Patient Instructions & Care Guidelines
Please follow these important instructions carefully
for your safety, comfort, and quick recovery. These
guidelines have been prepared by Dr. Rida Iqbal for
all her patients.
Before Coming to Hospital
Always book an appointment before
visiting — do not come without
prior appointment
Keep pen and paper ready for
telephone consultations to note
important information.
For ultrasound: hold your urine
and drink extra water beforehand
for a clearer image.
If you feel reduced baby movement
during pregnancy, come to hospital
immediately for CTG check.
Bring your previous medical reports,
prescriptions, and test results to
every appointment with Dr. Rida Iqbal.
Post-Delivery Instructions
Exclusively breastfeed your baby for the
first 6 months — no formula or water.
Rest at home for a full 1 month after
delivery. Avoid heavy household work.
Eat nutritious diet daily — meat, milk,
fruits, and vegetables in abundance
Keep stitches clean and dry. Drink plenty
of water. Avoid constipation.
Visit Dr. Rida Iqbal for follow-up
check-up after 10 days of delivery.
Post-Operation Instructions
Rest completely for 3 full days after
discharge from hospital.
If Spinal Anaesthesia was given, rest
3 days and avoid sudden movements.
Drink plenty of water, tea and fluids.
Resume full diet from the second day.
For headache: Tab Panadol Extra —
3 times daily (1+1+1) for 3 days.
Avoid heavy work for 1.5 months. Take
your file and follow-up form with you.
Medication After Operation
For headache after Spinal Anaesthesia:
Tab Panadol Extra — 3 times daily
(1+1+1) for 3 days.
Drink plenty of water, tea, and
coffee along with medication for
better effect.
Do not take any other pain medication
without consulting Dr. Rida Iqbal first.
From the second day after operation,
resume full normal diet — meat,
milk, and fruits.
If symptoms persist or worsen after
3 days, contact the clinic immediately
for further guidance.
